Participation Requirements:

 

a. To be a part of the project Twenty21 the patients must have one of the following conditions:
a. Chronic Pain
b. Anxiety Disorder
c. Tourette’s Syndrome
d. Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
e. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
f. Substance Use Disorder (as a harm reduction strategy)

As recorded by a doctor and written on the patients’ medical records.

b. Patients must have been prescribed two other medicines for this Illness either in the past or currently, and both mediations must have proven ineffective at managing patients´ condition.

Choosing a Consultant:

 

There is a list of private clinics and independent consultants the patients can choose, find more information about some of the clinics: Clinic directory.

Different consultants offer different services. Speak to them to determine which one meets your needs and how much they charge for an assessment.

To keeps cost low patients need to make sure to tell their consultant they want to be a part of project Twnety21.

The consultant will be able to advise the patients about the referral process and cost associated with treatment.

Pre-clinical Assessment:

 

Most of the clinics will conduct a pre-clinical assessment.
This is an informal conversation over the phone to see whether the patient could potentially benefit from a medical cannabis prescription.
If it is agreed that the patients might, then can have an appointment to see consultant.

Consultation:

This could be a phone call or a face-to-face appointment.

Important to know that the decision to prescribe medical cannabis remains entirely with the prescribing consultant.

The consultant will decide whether to prescribe medicinal cannabis products based on the patient´s medical history and clinical need.

Attending a consultation does not guarantee a medical cannabis prescription will be provided.

If medical cannabis is an appropriate treatment for the patient´s condition, the consultant will explain which products may help manage the patient condition and issue a prescription.

Product Delivery

The consultant will give the instructions in how to order the medicine.

The medicine will be couriered to the patient´s home address once the hard copy is received and the payment has been processed.

Treatment Follow-up

The consultant will arrange follow up appointments as necessary until the patients have become stabilized on the correct dose.
